Last night and this morning actually turned out to be the highlights of the trip thus far. The traditional dancing was awesome and the guided Bushman walk was amazing. The walk was with 2 men and 4 women, same as the dancing. The men danced and the women clapped. Anyway, on the walk they could just walk up to plants and dig up the roots and show us medicines or there was one that was full of water and they washed up with it and also drank it. It’s hard to explain but it was amazing. Of course they don’t speak any English so they also had a translator. AMAZING!! It was a good reminder of where we are and how fortunate we are to have these opportunities.
After the walk we loaded up the truck and drove to our next camp to prepare for tomorrow’s adventure. Before making camp we took an hour flight over the Okavango Delta and spotted Zebra, Gnu, Giraffe, and HIPPOS AND ELEPHANTS!!!
Then we went and made camp. I went for a swim in the pool before supper, which was so nice after such a hot day! We prepared for our adventures tomorrow that consist of a jet boat ride, Mokoro (hand made canoes) trip, and 2 nights of Delta camping. It sounds like it will be FANTASTIC!!
I can’t believe that my trip has already been ongoing for 2 weeks now!!
